Terms of service

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of the TrickQuiz app and this website. By using either you accept them, along with our privacy policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use TrickQuiz.

2. Who may use it

TrickQuiz is for a general audience. If you are below the age at which you can consent to online services where you live, you may use it only with a parent or guardian involved, who accepts these terms on your behalf. The kids section is designed for younger players and carries no advertising.

3. Your account

You can play without registering. In that case we create an anonymous account for your device so your progress can be saved. It is tied to that device: without signing in, there is no way to reach it from another one.

You may attach an Apple ID in the app's settings. This does not create a second account — it adds a way of reaching the one you already have, so you can continue on another device. Keeping access to that Apple ID secure is your responsibility.

We give you a display name when you start — an ordinary two-word name in your own language — so you are never a blank on a leaderboard. You may change it to one you choose, once a week.

A name you choose must not impersonate somebody else, contain unlawful or offensive material, or infringe anyone's rights. Names are checked before they are saved, partly by an automated system, and one that breaks this rule is refused — you are simply asked for another. We may also reset a name later if it turns out to break the rule. You can delete your account and its data at any time from within the app.

4. Stars and in-app items

Stars, lives, hints and trophy cards are virtual items provided as part of the game. They have no monetary value, are not your property, cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to another person, and may be changed, expired or discontinued as the game changes.

There are no paid items today. If any are offered in future, they will be sold through Apple's App Store under Apple's terms, and refunds handled by Apple.

5. Advertising

TrickQuiz is free and paid for by advertising. Some advertising appears between games. Rewarded advertising is different: you choose to watch it in exchange for something in the game — starting the daily quiz, a bonus question, an extra life or a hint — and you are never required to. Where the law requires it we ask for your consent before showing personalised advertising, and you can change that answer later. No advertising appears in the kids section.

6. Fair play

You agree not to:

• use bots, scripts or modified clients to submit results you did not play;
• interfere with scoring, leaderboards, duels or Battle Royale;
• try to reach accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
• copy, scrape or redistribute our questions, answers or images in bulk;
• harass other players, including through display names and reports.

Results are verified on our servers. We may remove scores, reset progress or suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Questions and accuracy

We work hard to keep the questions correct, and questions that have been through our review carry a seal in the app. Even so, quiz content is for entertainment and general knowledge, and we cannot guarantee every question and answer is free of error or up to date. If you spot a mistake, please use the report button in the app — reports are reviewed and the question corrected.

8. Intellectual property

TrickQuiz — its software, design, questions, images, name and logo — belongs to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it for your own entertainment. All other rights are reserved.

9. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim that the app fails to conform to a warranty may be directed to Apple, who may refund the purchase price where one was paid; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation.

10. Availability and changes

We may add, change, suspend or withdraw parts of the game, including modes, tournaments and rewards. We aim to keep it available but cannot promise it will never be interrupted or error-free.

11. Termination

You may stop using TrickQuiz and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the service. The sections on intellectual property, disclaimers and liability continue to apply afterwards.

12. Disclaimer and liability

TrickQuiz is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law permits. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for the loss of virtual items, progress or data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The updated version will appear on this page with a new date at the top, and continuing to use TrickQuiz after a change means you accept it.
